BASIC OBEDIENCE GROUP CLASSES
The techniques used in our Basic Obedience group training classes are focused on developing
effective communication to create mutual respect and understanding between a dog and its
human. This concept is sure to create harmony in the home that we lovingly share with our
Dogs live in the present in a very energy centric manner that is easily used to our advantage
in communicating our desires to our dogs. With this in mind our sessions will be light hearted,
fun and informative and this method of delivery will ensure all minds (human and canine) will
be in peak condition for receiving new information.
Although, we cover the basic commands (Heel, Sit, Down, Stay, Come) we believe that the
lessons do not stop there. Instead we offer an all encompassing theology that will seem like
second nature by the end of the 7 sessions. See client testimonials below.

THERAPY DOG TRAINING
Trained Therapy dogs are available for adoption through the NLOL Lend A Paw Program
or you may be able to enroll your own dog in Therapy Dog training if the dog has the right
temperament for Therapy work. A comprehensive evaluation by our qualified staff is the first
We focus our level of training to create well-mannered, calm, social pets. We use a number
of trainers for each dog, ensuring the dog is comfortable with following directions from any
handler. The dogs are taken to various locations throughout the area and “proofed” against
every day distractions and obstacles.
The final test after training and social and environmental conditioning determines if the dog
can be certified. All handlers must be certified to handle a Therapy Dog.
Please visit the Lend A Paw section for more details.
