Adopt a dog from New Leash on Life

GENERAL ADOPTION POLICIES & PROCEDURES

Adoptions are not based on submission date. Dogs with multiple applications will have the opportunity to meet all potential adopters.

Since it is our desire that you have a pet that can enjoy a lifetime of love with you, we take special measures to ensure that the dog you rescue is the best match for you and your family. We have set up the following procedures for anyone wishing to adopt one of our dogs:

Fill out our adoption application. This helps us understand more about you and your lifestyle.
Have an interview with a New Leash On Life representative.
If applicable, your existing dog will be required to meet the dog you are applying for as well as all members/persons living in the household, prior to adoption.
Have a Home Check to ensure the home is safe for the animal.
Complete and Sign an Adoption Contract.
(The contract stipulates that you must continue obedience training with your new dog in order to develop the best relationship possible and avoid behavioral problems.)
Make a minimum tax deductible adoption donation of $250
NLOL Dogs that have completed Basic Obedience training, the minimum tax deductible adoption donation is $500
Live happily ever after with your companion animal.

NLOL dogs are current on all vaccinations and have been spayed or neutered. Puppies are the exception until they are of age.
