Basil is a sweet dog who unfortunately is afraid of strangers. Once you give Basil time to relax and form a bond with you, he turns into the most loving dog that you could imagine! He loves splashing in the pool whenever the weather gets too warm, and ESPECIALLY loves riding on the golf cart or going for car rides. As you may have noticed from watching his video, he is happy just going around and around in circles! This smart pup has been obedience trained and knows basic commands such as "sit," "stay" and "down" and when he really loves you, he's not shy about giving you lots of kisses. He would be a loyal and loving companion to an experienced owner.
Basil needs an owner who would be willing to visit him at New Leash several times so he can build a trusting relationship with them. He also needs a firm owner so he can feel safe. This dog is not “all work and no play” though - he will eagerly reward your efforts, and he is a favorite of the rescue workers due to his affectionate and silly ways.
