KATRINA ANIMAL VICTIMS

ANGEL'S STORY

Angel was one of seven dogs that Bobby brought back with him from his first trip to Louisiana.  Luckily, her owners were located shortly after Angel arrived in Los Angeles.  During his second trip to the area, Bobby reunited Angel with his owner.

Below is a letter written from the owner:

My name is Anthony C. Smith and you all rescued my dog Angel (black mini Schnauzer) from my mother-in-law's house.  I want to thank you again for rescuing him and bringing him back to good spirits.  Since he has been back with us he has return to usual playful yet demanding attitude.  We got him "fixed" like Bobby suggested, but it didn't take away anything from his morale.  Instead it has giving more zest for life than any of us can handle

Unfortunately, he has recently endured somewhat of a setback.  He loves to dig holes in our backyard and one night a couple of weeks ago we were playing in the yard.  I picked him to smell his breath--sometimes he likes to poo as well as the grass.  Luckily it was the grass.  I put him back down and he ran off--the next thing I hear is him crying and his front right leg bent badly.  Apparently, he didn't see the hole he stepped in.  I rushed him to Vet ER and it was determined that his leg was broken.

Despite Hurricane Katrina, being fixed, and a broken leg,  Angel remains resilient and full of life.  My family thanks you for bringing us back our little pillar for life.  We will always keep you in our prayers.

     Sincerely,

           Anthony C. Smith
