Meet Magnolia, our happy-go-lucky little bundle of pitbull love. Though she looks the part of a tough dog, it takes only seconds to realize her true goal in life is to kiss as many people as she can get her little heart-shaped nose to reach.
As is unfortunately common in this tough economy, Magnolia’s family had to give her up to Animal Care and Control for financial reasons. It’s clear, though, that she is used to being with a family and feeling loved and secure -- she is happy, outgoing and loves nothing more than to curl up and snuggle with her loved ones.
Magnolia is about 5 years old, and with her moderate energy level, she could be a good fit for many adopters. She loves to run and play (and she makes a good jogging buddy!) but she is also happy to snooze away for hours. She is fully housetrained and can easily go 8-9 hours without a bathroom break, so she’d be an easy fit for anyone with a full-time work schedule. She’s also a great size- she’s small for a pitbull, and likely within the weight range for apartments that limit dog size to under 50 pounds.
Magnolia is very gentle by nature -- she adores people and is good with kids. She can be a bit suspicious around other dogs, though, so we would recommend that she be the single dog in a household. Though very friendly, Magnolia also seems to believe she has a duty to guard her loved ones- she’s always paying attention to what’s going on, and will bark to let you know of any suspicious noises outside. Any single woman would feel safer with lil’ Nolie around!
We’re not sure how Magnolia would do around cats, but given her fascination with squirrels, we suspect some chasing may occur. We’d be happy to cat test her for an interested adopter. With pitbulls (and other oft-maligned breeds), we do give preference to adopters with previous pitbull experience, but we’d be happy to talk with anyone who would be dedicated to giving this little lovebug the stable forever home she deserves.
